Director of the St. Petersburg branch of the Institute for Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere, and Radio Wave Propagation (SPbF IZMIRAN). Leader within the Russian Academy of Sciences with over 40 years of geophysical experience. Developed unique equipment for vector measurements of electromagnetic fields. Author of several patents and has innovated successful methods applicable to processing three-dimensional electromagnetic data for use in geothermal exploration, earthquake prediction, geological research, industrial applications, military applications, engineering, and infrastructure development.

1988 – 1991. Worked on technical specification of “Marine Geomagnetic Research System” for the Russian Academy of Sciences.
1952 – 1992. Investigated space-temporal distribution of geomagnetic field at oceans and seas for nonmagnetic research vessel Zarya.
1969 – 1980. Investigated the secular geomagnetic field variations, magnetic disturbances, and MT sounding in seismic area of Kazakhstan (Tyan-Shan mountains).
1962 – 1968. Investigated the secular geomagnetic field variations, magnetic disturbances, and MT sounding around volcanoes in the Kamchatka area.
