Ten years of experience in advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, geotechnical engineering, geohydrology, and subsurface flow modeling. Has developed custom spatial simulations by applying GIS technology to data mining and machine-learning techniques as a means of solving difficult spatial problems. These simulations often couple numerical and lumped subsurface and surface flow models. Project experience includes geothermal reservoir four-dimensional (4D) conceptual modeling, two-phase numerical modeling, slope stability modeling, materials testing, three-dimensional (3D) geologic modeling, GIS data model design, and advanced spatial simulation development. Has developed 3D conceptual geothermal reservoir models for Mighty River Power in New Zealand since 2009. Involved in modeling four high-temperature geothermal reservoirs in the Taupo Rift Zone at Rotokawa, Kawerau, Mokai, and Ngatamariki. Developed custom applications for visualization and analysis of geothermal reservoir data in CTECH’s Mining Visualization Systems and MATLAB. Applications include Micro Seismic hypocenter 4D visualizations, Magnetotelluric 3D inversion integration, 4D geochemistry trend modeling, and visualization of numeric geothermal reservoir simulation scenarios from TETRAD and TOUGH2.
